Be prepared to be enthralled by this truly one-of-a-kind piece of art. Striking hand-carved teak wall sculpture in an abstract face form, set within a deep-carved oval frame ringed by hand-set brass nail heads. Bold sculptural planes — a raised ridged nose, teardrop eye, and graceful cutout details — give this piece a totemic, atomic-age presence. Brass nails laced with fibers run down the nose ridge for extra handmade texture.
One-of-a-kind studio piece; maker unknown/unsigned. Natural age crack at top on back, consistent with solid wood construction. Likely second eye missing although it adds to the abstract nature — see photos.
A bold statement piece for mid-century modern or eclectic interiors.
- Material: Solid teak, brass, fiber cord
- Era: Circa 1960s–70s (estimated)
